The basic purpose of the Indiana Catholic Conference (ICC) is to serve the spiritual, moral and material well-being of the people of the state:

  • by serving as the official spokesperson for the Bishops and Catholic faithful regarding state and national matters
  • by representing the Church and developing cooperative relationship where common public policy interests exist with religious and civic, social and governmental units
  • by serving as liaison between the Catholic Church in Indiana and national Catholic groups in areas of common public policy interests.

Most Rev. Robert J. McClory, Bishop of Gary, is a member of the Board of Directors of the ICC along with the other four ordinaries of the state of Indiana including Most Rev. Charles C. Thompson, Archbishop of Indianapolis, Most Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades, Bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Most Rev. Timothy Doherty, Bishop of Lafayette-in-Indiana, and Most Rev. Joseph M. Siegel, Bishop of Evansville.
