How Do I Learn NFP?

Methods of Natural Family Planning:

Sympto-Thermo/Couple to Couple League

The Sympto-Thermo method uses three signs of fertility: changes in cervical mucus, basil body tem-perature, and cervix. These signs cross-check each other to accurately determine fertile and non-fertile days. The Diocese of Gary currently has seven English speaking and one Spanish speaking teaching couples who have been trained and certified by the Couple to Couple League. Three types of classes are offered: Live on-site, Virtual (live via computer), Online

Creighton Fertility Care

The Creighton method uses a mucus-only approach and is taught under the guidance of a physician.  The Creighton method also employs NaProTECHNOLOGY which is highly effective in treating infertility and repeat miscarriage.
While NW Indiana does not have a Creighton Fertility Care center they can be found in Chicago, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis areas.

Billings Life

The Billings Ovulation Method® also uses a mucus-only approach to recognize fertile and non-fertile days. It was one of the first methods of NFP developed. Online classes are available with live-teacher support

Marquette Model

The Marquette method of NFP uses an algorithm that helps women and couples find their fertile window through reproductive hormones found in urine, changes in cervical mucus and/or basal body temperature. Hormone levels are measured using a Clearblue fertility monitor. The method is taught by healthcare professionals who are specially trained in online teaching.
