My heart is still filled with joy over the consecration on June 12 of our diocese to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Hundreds of us gathered on that day and we are now seeing the fruits of the dedication. Since then, we continue to hear how the faithful are offering prayer and works of mercy in honor of this dedication. I thank you and encourage you to continue this devotion.
On July 12, I enjoyed celebrating the annual Mass for Migrant Farm Workers, a wonderful gathering of people reflecting God’s love for all His children. This beautiful event brought together people from across our diocese to honor and pray with our migrant community, and acknowledge the important role they have in our Church and diocesan community.
In less than a month, on August 22, we will celebrate our second Emmaus Conference together at the Porter Expo Center. This special event is an opportunity to bring everyone across the diocese together in prayer, fellowship and formation (to learn more, visit: emmaus.dcgary.org).
The Emmaus Conference is designed to inspire and equip us to live out our faith daily, with renewed purpose to boldly share the Gospel message and foster the growth of other missionary disciples.
I hope you will join us at this year’s Emmaus Conference. Please pray for those organizing this event and for each person attending.
The Road to Emmaus passage (Luke 24:13-35) reminds us that Jesus desires to walk with us, listen to our prayers and reveal Himself to us. By His example, we too are called to accompany one another in faith, encouraging and supporting one another as we grow closer to Jesus.

El Señor Obispo McClory: Vivir nuestra fe en comunidad
Mi corazón sigue lleno de alegría por la consagración de nuestra diócesis al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, celebrada el pasado 12 de junio. Cientos de nosotros nos reunimos ese día y ahora vemos los frutos de esa consagración. Desde entonces, seguimos escuchando cómo los fieles ofrecen oración y obras de misericordia en honor a esta dedicación. Les doy las gracias y los animo a continuar con esta devoción.
El 12 de julio tuve la alegría de celebrar la Misa Anual para los Trabajadores del Campo, un hermoso encuentro de personas que reflejan el Amor de Dios por todos Sus hijos. Este bello acontecimiento reunió a personas de toda nuestra diócesis para honrar y orar junto con nuestra comunidad migrante y reconocer el importante papel que desempeñan en nuestra Iglesia y en la comunidad diocesana.
En menos de un mes, el 22 de agosto, celebraremos juntos nuestra segunda Conferencia Emaús en el Porter Expo Center. Este evento especial es una oportunidad para reunir a toda la diócesis en oración, fraternidad y formación (para obtener más información, visiten: emmaus.dcgary.org).
La Conferencia Emaús está diseñada para inspirarnos y capacitarnos a vivir nuestra fe cada día, con un propósito renovado de anunciar con valentía el mensaje del Evangelio y fomentar el crecimiento de otros discípulos misioneros.
Espero que puedan acompañarnos en la Conferencia Emaús de este año. Les pido que oren por quienes están organizando este evento y por cada una de las personas que asistirán.
El pasaje del Camino de Emaús (Lucas 24, 13-35) nos recuerda que Jesús desea caminar con nosotros, escuchar nuestras oraciones y revelarse a nosotros. Siguiendo Su ejemplo, también nosotros estamos llamados a acompañarnos mutuamente en la fe, animándonos y apoyándonos unos a otros mientras crecemos en nuestra cercanía a Jesús.
