Walking through Lent with Intention

The Fourth Sunday in Lent is a reminder that renewal begins with intentional choices. This week, let us take concrete steps to draw closer to Christ. Begin with prayer. Choose a time each day to pause, even if only for five minutes, and speak to God from the heart. Ask Him to show you where He wants to bring light into your life.

Maybe you haven’t already started Lenten resolutions, and you think it is too late. Here are some ideas to jumpstart the rest of Lent and keep at it!

Practice generosity in a way that costs you something. Give your time to someone who needs encouragement. Offer patience when you feel rushed. Share resources with someone who is struggling. These acts of love reflect the mercy of God and open our hearts to grace.

Consider fasting from habits that drain your spirit. Step away from constant scrolling or negative conversations. Use that time to read Scripture or simply sit in silence. Let God’s presence fill the space where distractions once ruled.

Finally, make gratitude a daily discipline. At the end of each day, write down three blessings you experienced. They may be small, but they remind us that God is at work in every moment. Gratitude changes how we see the world and strengthens our trust in His goodness.

Lent is not only about reflection; it is about transformation. These simple actions help us live the season with purpose and prepare us for the joy of Easter. Let us walk this week with intention, allowing God to shape our hearts through prayer, mercy, and gratitude.
