Position Description:

Oversees immigration services offered to clients by Catholic Charities.  Provides leadership and active support for paid staff and volunteers to ensure excellent service is provided to clients.  Keeping abreast of changes in immigration law and immigration forms.  Generates new clients through effective marketing within the Catholic community and beyond.  Ensures services comply with Department of Justice requirements and obtains and maintains all certifications necessary especially for Immigration Support and Assistance Center (ISAAC) and accreditation for the immigration representatives (case managers) who assist ISAAC clients. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the mission, vision, values of Catholic Charities and possesses a working knowledge of the social teaching of the Church
  • Works within the Agency’s Code of Ethics
  • Establishes and maintains positive community relations
  • Maintains cooperative working relationships to promote the Agency and networks with other professionals, community agencies, attorneys and courts
  • Provide quality service and professional competence
  • Provide direct service to individuals
  • Represents the Agency within the community when appropriate or assigned
  • Works with Catholic Charities USA/CLINIC

Duties:

  • Drafts and proposes plan for Immigration, updates as needed
  • Establish goals and performance measures for all staff
  • Participate in training to obtain or maintain individual certification and agency accreditation
  • Provide training, consultancy, and supervise staff
  • Supports staff efforts to provide direct service to clients
  • Ensures software is used to track client service
  • Collaborates with other Catholic Charities departments, participates in agency trainings and meetings
  • Assists with efforts to raise funds in support of Immigration and agency
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationship with CCUSA point-person for immigration services
  • Ensures parishes and other groups are well-informed about immigration matters
  • Provides consultancy, within controlled limits, to parishes and other agencies to assist in the development of the program
  • Participate in community needs assessment activities, forums, and functions as necessary
  • Collects and analyses data to monitor and evaluate quality and effectiveness of services Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on program services; prepare grant reports
  • Maintains contractual compliance with all funding streams
  • Manage budget
  • Research and write grants 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in human service Agency (preferred) or related field
  • Department of Justice certified preferred
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fluent in Spanish, verbal and written
