St. Stanislaus Kostka prepares to celebrate feast days during October

MICHIGAN CITY – A variety of special liturgies and events at St. Stanislaus Kostka during the month of October will honor the Blessed Mother along with several saints.

ST. FAUSTINA KOWALSKA
The feast day of St. Faustina is Oct. 5. The St. Stanislaus parish community will be praying the Rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m., before the 10 a.m. Mass. A first-class relic is available for veneration after Mass until 11:30 am. Coffee and Donuts will be served after Mass in the School.

ST. CARLO ACUTIS
St Stanislaus Kostka is honored to have received a first-class relic of a recently canonized saint, St. Carlo Acutis. The church will be unveiling the relic on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the 4 p.m. Mass as part of the Children's Mass, which is the day before his feast day, Oct 12. The relic will be available for private veneration after Mass until 6 p.m. It will then be placed in the relic room alongside the other 100 relics on display for all to visit and pray.

INTERNATIONAL FATIMA STATUE
On Sunday, Oct. 19, at the 10 a.m. Mass, St. Stanislaus Kostka will host the Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Fatima. The purpose of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue tour is to bring the graces of Fatima and Our Lady’s message of hope, peace and salvation to those many millions of people who may never have an opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Fatima itself.

An uninterrupted flow of graces and favors have been reported wherever the statue has traveled, including physical cures. More importantly, people are converted and return to the sacraments after many years of being away from the Church.

The schedule includes an entrance procession of the statue, Mass, a presentation by the custodian, reciting the Rosary, and private veneration. The conclusion is at 1 p.m.

ALL SAINTS DAY CELEBRATION
On Sunday, Oct. 26, after the 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Masses, St. Stanislaus Kostka will celebrate All Saints Day by displaying many of the parish’s relics of saints for up-close visitation and prayer, which includes a new relic of St. Carlo Acutis. A relic serves as a point of prayer and inspiration for the faithful, connecting them to the life and example of the saints.

St. Stanislaus Kostka is located at 1506 Washington St. in Michigan City. For more information, contact the church office at (219) 879-9281.
