Brothers and sisters, in Sunday's Gospel, Jesus introduces a new commandment. He explains to his followers, to us, that we should love one another as he has loved us.
Beyond loving one another, Jesus speaks of his glorification to remind us to live in a way that honors God. This is our faith. God loves us and calls us to love like Him. When we live in this way, we demonstrate our faith and draw others to Jesus. When we put others first, when we forgive, when we share who we are and what we have with others, we love like Jesus.
It's not easy to always act with love, especially when we're tired or frustrated. But that's the mission.
This week, let's be intentional about walking as a disciple of love. Let's act in ways that honor God. I'll be praying for us that in our commitment to love one another and walk humbly as servants, we will give the world a glimpse of our loving Lord.
