The Associate Vocations Director is part of a collaborative team whose mission is developing, promoting, fostering and inviting men to the priesthood and brotherhood as a Missionary of the Precious Blood. The Associate Director will travel extensively to attend varies vocation events to promote the Missionary community throughout their assigned regions.

  • Attend vocation fairs, conferences, retreats and events to promote the community to potential inquirers.
  • Give presentations at schools, parishes and other applicable events about the importance of vocations, especially the consecrated life and priesthood to the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. Schools include middle school, high school, colleges and universities. Parishes include Precious Blood parishes and others in regions where the Missionaries may not have a presence.
  • Assist pastors, vicars, DREs, youth directors, or campus ministers by providing materials and being a resource for them to promote vocations.
  • Serve as a liaison between schools, parishes and the Missionaries throughout your assigned region.
  • Analyze trends in vocation recruitment and develop strategies to help promote the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. This may include strategies to developing partnerships between the Missionaries and schools/parishes in areas of the country that the Missionaries may not currently have a presence as well as strengthening the areas the Missionaries are known.
  • Assist in development of promotional material used by the Vocation office during recruitment events, at parishes and ministry sites, or via social media.
  • Make initial contact with inquirers wanting to learn more about the Missionaries through phone calls, emails, social media, or in person.
  • Continue follow up communication with perspective inquirers until those individuals have started their inquiry formation.
  • Develop and conduct retreats for inquirers in conjunction with the Director of Vocations.

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in theology, pastoral ministry, or religious studies), along with a minimum of four (4) years of relatable experience. Prior experience in campus ministry, youth or young adult ministry is helpful. Knowledge of Precious Blood Spirituality or the willingness to learn and be comfortable working in a Christian community culture.

Since this is a ministerial position, must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing and must know, profess and act consistently in accordance with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church and with the mission, philosophy, objectives, and policies of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.
