The Diocese of Gary has an excellent career opportunity for a Parish Financial Liaison for the Finance Office.
The Parish Financial Liaison functions as a Diocesan liaison to the parishes, schools and other institutions for financial reporting, risk management and technology. In addition, this position is responsible for the examination/audit of financial records resulting in a written audit report identifying compliance and deficiencies with Diocesan Financial Policies and generally accepted accounting principles. The Parish Liaison will have risk management responsibilities reviewing the Parish/School facilities, identifying and reporting to diocesan insurance analyst areas needing attention to keep the buildings and grounds safe. Responsible for reviewing the technology component of the Parish/School identifying weaknesses and strengths.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, experience in Catholic Church accounting at the Parish/School level preferred. Experience and education with computer hardware and software. Excellent communication and writing skills. Excellent organizational skills. Willingness to travel locally frequently. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, outlook), QuickBooks, PDS (Parish Data Systems), ADP Workforce Now for payroll and benefit reporting. Familiarity with QVinci dashboard reporting software as well as FACTS software is a plus. Specific experience in a complex, nonprofit, multi-unit organization with a service orientation preferred.
