The Diocese of Gary is seeking a talented and professional part-time Human Resource (HR) Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be passionate about assisting employees through our company’s benefits enrollment process, assisting in the recruitment process, and supporting employees.

Your main responsibilities will center around benefits administration billing, auditing for accuracy, maintaining updated employment records, and assisting with the organizational recruiting effort. To excel in this role, you should be an effective communicator as you will be responsible for responding to internal and external inquiries, be organized and have a keen sense of detail. Having basic knowledge of human resources regulations is required.

Successful candidates will have an associate’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant field &/or a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role. Strong technical aptitude utilizing our HRIS system ADP Workforce Now for data entry and benefits processing is essential to this role. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a focus on missionary discipleship and service to our stakeholders is key. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to manage several tasks concurrently is a necessary competency. A conscientious attention to detail is a must for this position.
