The Catholic Diocese of Gary is hiring a Communications Manager. This position works closely with the director of communications to enact content strategy that advances the mission and priorities of the Diocese of Gary. The person in this role collaborates with a team of communication professionals to efficiently produce high quality content that aligns with Catholic teaching and diocesan brand guidelines. This leadership role works closely with other diocesan ministries to deliver communications that serve parishes, schools, and the faithful of the Diocese of Gary.
Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail‐oriented and able to work collaboratively with little supervision. The position requires the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously so candidates must have a positive “can do” perspective toward project work.
Candidates must have a functional knowledge of collaborative tools such as Google and Microsoft 365 and a proven ability to contribute and oversee the production of high-quality content, including articles, photography, videos, social media, promotional media, print publications, and other media as required. This individual will excel at ensuring content is engaging, accurate, aligned with Catholic teaching, and that it adheres to brand guidelines and complies with copyright laws and regulatory requirements. The preferred team member will desire to share the joy of the Gospel through a Catholic lens and inspire others to produce quality content for diocesan communications. The candidate will preferably have a bachelor’s degree in communications or a similar field.
