Parishes in the Diocese of Gary are on a journey to know, love, and serve Christ as a parish community. Together we must embrace Christ’s vision for missionary discipleship so our parishes can thrive and be a place for others to grow together in faith.
The very first step in this process involves assessing our greatest strengths and opportunities, and that is where the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) comes in! The DMI is an important survey tool that invites parishioners to reflect on their discipleship journey.
Thank you for helping with this important project and please continue to pray for this intention and for the growth of our parishes.

- What is involved in taking the survey?
-
The Disciple Maker Index (DMI) is a 75-question survey designed to invite parishioners to reflect on where they are on their journey of discipleship and enables leadership to make data-driven decisions to help parishioners grow in their faith. The survey should take 10 to 15 minutes.
- What kinds of questions does the survey ask?
-
The survey asks questions that can be grouped into four categories:

- Participation: Frequency of parishioners' participation in various parish activities
- Relationship/Satisfaction: Parishioners' satisfaction with their parishioner, pastor and parish activities
- Demographics: Gender, age, ethnicity, etc. to understand who is responding
- Will my pastor or anyone else see my responses?

All responses are confidential and the parish will only receive information about the community as a whole.

-
Yes, each parish will receive a report of their parish survey's findings 30 to 60 days after the conclusion of the survey.
