JOB DESCRIPTION: The teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success. A specials’ area teacher collaborates with homeroom teachers to provide a well rounded academic experience that is infused with exposure to the arts.
*This position has previously been split as 3 days a week teaching PreK-8 music and 2 days a week teaching PreK-4 computers. This is flexible and can be adjusted if a candidate wishes to split their week with another diocesan school.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process and meaningful learning experiences. Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Carries out the Catholic mission of our school.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Current Indiana Teaching License or ability to obtain one with a knowledge of music (PreK-8) standards preferred. Experience with elementary (PreK-4) technology integration is also necessary if looking to teach computers (We are 1:1 with Chromebooks).
