Welcome to the Diocese of Gary Vocation Office! As Vocation Director, I want to offer you resources that will help as you discern and respond to God’s call to a priestly vocation.
This Fall, God blessed the Diocese of Gary with twelve energetic and compassionate men who want to serve the Church as priests. In the pages ahead, you can read about our seminarians and so much more! You will find responses to frequently asked questions, a list of discernment opportunities in the coming months, the Vocation Office Newsletter, a prayer calendar for the priests in the Diocese of Gary, links to the seminaries where the Diocese of Gary sends men for priestly formation, links to religious communities, and a variety of other websites that you might want to see. In the future, you can also look for a discernment tool and audio files from homilies on vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Many good are happening in the Diocese of Gary!
To the right, you will find an image of the annual vocation awareness poster. I wanted to employ an image that is associated with the Year for Priests. St. John Vianney, the patron saint of all priests and the focus of many documents written for the Year for Priest, seemed like an excellent choice. St. John Vianney’s simple statement about the love of the heart of Jesus captures, I believe, the essence of ordained priestly ministry in the Church. I hope you enjoy the simplicity and the depth of the image and message. If you would like a copy this poster, please contact me with your name and mailing address. |
